To be clear, Keyless Ignition and Remote Start are different features, even if they do similar things. Keyless Start lets drivers start and drive their car without the need for a standard key. Remote Ignition lets drivers start their vehicle through their key fob. Remote Ignition is helpful during extreme temps such as very cold or very hot days by letting you start the car and help cool it off when it’s hot. You will never get into a hot car again, simply use the Remote Start and allow your vehicle to cool off before you drive away.

What Makes a Key a Smart Key?

A Smart Key is the electronic part of your key that is used to access a car remotely. The buttons for your wireless functions are found on the Smart Key itself. The Smart Key then sends signals to the car to open the hatch, lock the doors, and so on. Some cars won’t start without the Smart Key, as they are connected to the anti-theft system.
