Best 10 Auto Safety Innovations For Teens & New Drivers

If you’ve got a teen or new driver, then you undoubtedly have concerns concerning the best automotive safety innovations. You’re not alone there. Your baby has reached driving age and their world has just gotten a lot bigger and possibly more dangerous. However before you spend your hard-earned cash on a brand-new army tank for your new driver, we’ve got some fantastic news. There are some amazing safety features readily available in most cars that are perfect for your teen or new driver. So fasten your seat belts, and join us for a look at the ten most advanced safety features in today’s cars.

What Are Today’s Top 10 Safety Innovations In Automobiles

Auto safety tech is as old as the invention of the automobile itself and a number of those early technologies are still with us, albeit in a far more advanced version. However you’re not here to learn about improvements in seat belts. You need information about the most effective safety innovations in 21st-century vehicles and we’ve got them for you:

ACC: Adaptive Cruise Control

The safest vehicles are cars or trucks with the best modern technology. One of the more advanced safety systems available is Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). ACC uses cutting-edge radar sensors that keep your car or truck at an acceptable distance from vehicles in front of you and your passengers. Here’s how this feature works:

  • The driver establishes the cruise control max speed.
  • The ACC radar system keeps pace with the cars you are following.
  • When identifying an imminent collision, the ACC will use the car’s AEB system (see the next safety feature) to slow or stop the car.

AEB: Automatic Emergency Braking

Driving while distracted has become a bigger problem today. This is mostly due to personal device usage while driving, particularly with teen drivers. AEB systems are specifically designed to avoid an accident before it happens. In the event of an imminent impact, the AEB system will:

  • Alert the driver with an audible alarm – some systems utilize vibrating steering wheels and seats, as well.
  • If the driver doesn’t engage the brake quickly enough to avoid an accident, the AEB system will apply the brakes automatically to help avoid or reduce the seriousness of a forward collision.
  • In case the driver requires further braking assistance, the next safety innovation kicks in.

Crash Imminent Braking (CIB)/Dynamic Brake Support (DBS)

Many more car makers are including additional automatic braking systems to help drivers in avoiding or drastically reducing the severity of an accident. The inclusion of a DBS/CIB system assists the driver by:

  • Automatically adding brake pressure should the car or truck senses the driver’s braking pressure is inadequate to stop the car before a collision.
  • Should the driver fail to apply the brakes at all, the CIB system will automatically use the brakes to minimize the damage or prevent of an accident.

Adaptive Headlights

Dark corners on badly lit roads are a thing of the past with these extraordinary headlights. Connected to the steering system, the head lights turn in the exact same direction the steering wheel is turning in order to illuminate the area the car is turning into. This feature is especially useful in rural areas with limited or no exterior lights.

Forward Collision Warning

Thanks to this safety innovation, distracted driving is becoming less of a problem. Cameras, radar, and even lasers are masterfully utilized to alert drivers when obstacles in front of them are getting too near to the front of your car, truck, or SUV. Throw in an automated emergency braking system and you can rest easy when your new driver gets on the road.

Blind Spot Detection

Speaking of keeping your eyes on the road, that annoying blind spot has finally been eliminated thanks to this safety innovation. Cameras and\or lasers keep an eye out in areas on your car that many drivers are notable to. A caution alert make certain you know about another vehicle’s proximity before you change lanes.

Lane Keeping System (LKS)/Lane Departure Warning (LDW)

Even more excellent news for distracted drivers. Lasers and video cameras are also used to observe the lane markings on the typical road. When the system detects the vehicle has started vacating its lane, it will alert the driver with alarms and lights, a vibrating steering wheel, and even a vibrating seat.

Rear-View Camera

This safety tech is frequently confused with back-up cameras; however the distinction between these 2 awesome advancements is stark. While back-up cameras typically have a limited field of vision, rear view cameras generally use wide-angle lenses to offer the driver a much broader view of what or who is behind them.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)

As the name implies, your car’s TPMS sensors keep track of the air pressure in all4 tires and alerts the driver with dashboard lights and even an alarm should the tire pressure reach critical levels.

Facial Recognition Software

Finally, we have one of the latest advancements to our automotive safety suites. Thanks to improvements in facial recognition technology, cars are starting to include this tech to keep track of driver alertness. Once calibrated to the driver’s distinct physical attributes, the software can spot slight alterations in driver focus levels. The software will then notify the driver with alarms and dashboard lights. This being a brand-new safety feature, drivers can expect more advanced informing measures like vibrating seats and steering wheels.

Bought a car from them, it was defective but I can't blame them as it was a tesla, and they don't report Jack to carfax. But they took care of me well, we concluded that unwinding the deal was the best action, they have got some wonderful people over there. If I find myself looking for a car I will definitely check here first. I must clarify, they don't do bad buisness, they did great. They just happened to have someone trade in a crap car.
